“I’ve just completed teacher training with Yoga Dharma. It was hard work, but I cannot recommend it enough. Fantastic teachers and incredibly supportive throughout. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to train with them – I came away excited to go deeper. Ben.
Safe and Effective
“They showed the correct and more importantly the safe way to practice and there is no doubt in my mind it would be difficult to find teachers as expert as these.” Louise.
You Will Learn To Teach With Confidence and Flair
Evidence Based
We systematically research and present all course content to ensure the highest quality. While the program is drawn from authentic sources, it is also supported where relevant with evidenced based research.
Empowering you with the confidence to guide students to explore their practice with integrity and compassion.
Each module comes with comprehensive course notes.
Physiology
'Pulmonary stretch receptors present in the smooth muscle of the airways respond to excessive stretching of the lung during large inspirations.
This triggers afferent nerve impulses via the vagus nerve to the Medulla Oblongata, which inhibits the need to exhale by slowing the respiratory frequency.'
(Physiology of Kumbhaka) Martin Thompson.
Philosophy
'Sutra 1. ATHA YOGANUSSASANAM.
Now the exposition of yoga is being made.
The science of Yoga laid out in these Sutras is based on instructions passed on by a lineage of Teachers.
Yoga is a science based not on mere logical thinking, but by empirical proof.
The term Pratijna, means knowledge by direct experience.'
History
'The Sramana movement was an ascetic culture and the forerunner of the
Samkhya philosophy and the basis of Patanjalis Eight Limbs of Yoga.
Samkhya is an atheistic philosophy requiring evidence and proof and does not require faith or belief.
Samkhya explains the Universe in a pragmatic way and is not led by religious dogma.'
Strong Foundations In Alignment
A strong understanding of the alignment of postures is fundamental to safe practice and teaching. Everyone’s posture will have its individualities and therefore adjustments will always have to reflect this.
Time is spent observing and discussing possible modifications and adjustments so that students are confident and assured when advising and adjusting.
ETHICAL MARKETING
Finding your own voice and style are essential for promoting yourself as a teacher. The Yoga Dharma Teacher Training system enables you to promote yourself with an ethical marketing approach based on the Yamas and Niyamas.
